Counseling was not my first, second, or third career, but it is the right one! I have degrees and have worked in the following areas: International business, education, and private and public sectors. I believe that all these experiences along with my multicultural background (I'm fluent in Spanish) have prepared me to be an understanding and relatable therapist. My purpose in all my careers was to always serve and know that what I did as a job was also helping others. After many years of working full-time in various fields and in college obtaining multiple degrees (and a huge student debt), I am happy to say I am where I need to be. Now, my learning focuses on becoming a better clinician each day. I am EMDR-trained, certified in DBT, and specialize in CBT, and I incorporate aromatherapy and various mindfulness interventions.
I offer a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation for each potential client. I believe this allows for the opportunity to see if we are a good fit for each other. After that, if you are ready to move forward, I will set you up on the client portal so that you complete the required documentation for your first session. I pride myself on being easily accessible to my clients; if at any time you have any questions or concerns, I am a text, call, or e-mail away. Sometimes, progress is hard to see if it is not immediate and drastic. But, just like losing weight, progress is not always obvious. I believe in "progress over perfection” (some may not believe they’ve made progress if they do not see perfection). Let’s celebrate and acknowledge the baby steps; after all, progress is progress!
As a counselor, what excites me the most about the evolving mental health landscape is the increasing awareness and acceptance of mental health issues. People are beginning to realize the importance of mental health and are more open to seeking help when they need it. This is leading to a growing demand for mental health services, which is driving innovation and improvement in the field. We are seeing the development of new technologies, such as teletherapy, which are making mental health care more accessible and convenient. There is also a greater focus on evidence-based treatments and approaches, which are helping to improve outcomes for clients. Overall, these changes are helping to break down the stigma surrounding mental health and are making it easier for people to get the help they need to lead happier and healthier lives.
My journey into counseling began through my work in education and my passion for helping others feel seen, supported, and empowered. As a former educator, small business owner, and mother to a child with special needs, I understand the emotional weight that many women, caregivers, and professionals carry every day. These personal and professional experiences shaped my desire to create a space where people can feel safe, understood, and supported while navigating life’s challenges.
Over the years, I discovered how meaningful it is to help others build confidence, manage overwhelming emotions, and reconnect with themselves. Counseling allows me to combine compassion, practical strategies, and genuine connection to help clients create lasting change. Today, my focus continues to be growing as a clinician and providing care that is supportive, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based approaches such as CBT, Solution-Focused Therapy, ACT, DBT, and strength-based interventions.
I strive to create a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel comfortable being themselves. I believe therapy should be collaborative and practical, meaning we work together to identify your goals while also developing tools and strategies you can begin using in your everyday life.
I understand that reaching out for help can feel overwhelming, so I aim to make the process feel approachable and supportive from the very beginning. In our work together, I value authenticity, encouragement, and celebrating progress — even the small steps forward. My goal is to help you feel empowered, more confident in yourself, and better equipped to manage life’s challenges with resilience and self-compassion.
What excites me most about the evolving mental health field is seeing more people openly prioritize their emotional well-being and seek support without shame. The growing acceptance of therapy is helping reduce stigma and making mental health care more accessible for individuals who may have once felt alone in their struggles.
I’m also excited about the flexibility and accessibility that virtual therapy provides. Being able to connect with clients across Texas allows more people to receive support in a way that fits their lifestyle and needs. As the field continues to grow, I look forward to continuing my education, expanding my skills, and helping clients feel empowered to create healthier, more balanced, and fulfilling lives.

Feeling unhappy, stressed, overwhelmed, out of control of your own life? We often underestimate the need to have someone support us through challenging experiences and difficult emotions to get us to a better place. It takes courage to seek change and take control of our lives to get us to where we want to be. As counselors our goal is to help you gain insight into your current situation and guide you in learning how to manage your emotions so you can break free from the obstacles hindering you from having the quality of life you wish to have.
